Mama Monster

Lady Gaga: i-D Spring 2011

Gaga looks fierce but what's the deal with those prosthetic cheek bones and horns she's been sporting lately?

Made Her Think Lookbook

One of my favorite jewelry eras was in the art deco period. This photo shoot encapsulates that 20s, 30s vibe, even though the jewelry is very modern.
I've always been told the 20s is my era. Flapper envy. Not to mention I rocked the bob once...

Now, this is what I'm talking about. Very Janis Joplinesque rocker wear. Urban Outfitters had some great sunglasses like these name after Elton John, they were fab. When going for bedazzled, wear gems like these, studs and rocks for some edge.
If only I could be a star, but I'll always rock out.

McQueen Fall 2011 Collection

A few key pieces from Alexander McQueen's new fall 2011 Collection. These are my faves. It had a very Victorian, structural show mixed with S&M leather harnesses and choke collars. Very severe, almost alien-like, the collection had some weird stuff. These pieces were the most wearable/fun.

Hottest shoes. The wedge is back and dirtier than ever.

Evan in Elie Saab

Evan Rachel Wood has never looked better. She's wearing the most gorgeous plum Elie Saab gown with the perfect Veronica Lake hair to match. Style crush.

Kate Winslet on Evan Rachel Wood nude scene in Mildred Pierce

God, Kate is so great. She has such class and such a talented actress.
Very excited about the Mildred Pierce mini-series coming up on HBO very soon. It's based on the film from 1945, starring Joan Crawford, directed by Michael Curtiz. Such a fantastic film!

Limitless In Review

I must say I really enjoyed Limitless. From the very beginning the vibes were all there. The audience was audibly excited to see the sexy Bradley Cooper go on a wild ride with NZT, the drug that makes all possible (very similar in concept to adderall I might add). By accessing the entirety of his brain's capability, he achieves success beyond our wildest dreams. The first third of the film showed how much of a loser he is, very different from Cooper's Mr Cool persona. So that was really refreshing to watch a different take on a very exploited personality. The film itself was visually cool, with trippy never-ending zooms to enhance the audience's perspective on what being under the influence of NZT feels like. The opening credits used this effect to the max. Overall, it was an enjoyable movie experience -- not an amazing film -- but a pretty good one that kept me intrigued throughout. Bits of humor here and there, sequences of suspense, and a whole lot of Bradley, who is uniquely handsome but also a commanding actor.  Not to mention, in this day and age, who wouldn't seize the opportunity to swallow a quick and easy way into a life of wealth, fame, glamour and adventure? That is the question.

TOUGH STUFF

Even though Spring is coming along and tends to be softer and sweeter, I say it's time to get tough. Think studs, think gunmetal, think chains, think rock. Not to mention pairing it with light leather and laces makes it transitional for Spring time.

This cell phone cover is so dirty. I love it.

Be badass from day to night.
